Kurzbeschreibung (Englisch)

Main goal is to develop a numerical model for simulating the physicochemical processes in fluidized beds (FBs) of energy conversion processes. The methodology involves: a) constructing a new Lattice Boltzmann (LB) thermal model for the simulation of: two-phase (solid-particle/gas) flows, which includes multiple species and catalytic reactions at the particle surfaces, b) validating the model with experiments in a biogas methanation FB, c) using the model for optimizing the FB geometry and operating conditions.
