Short description
(English)

The project explores the deep underground using remote geophysical surveys (magneto-tellurics and gravity) in a small part of the Western Swiss Molasse Basin (La Broye). This region is supposed to be above the edge of a deep Permo-Carboniferous Graben.

Final report
(English)

For a period of 5 months, from January 2015 to May 2015, the project is assessing the joint use of Magneto-Telluric and Gravity methods in a small part of the Western Swiss Molasse Basin, which is supposed to be above the edge of a deep Permo-Carboniferous Graben (Figure 1).
The study is localized over an area of ~100 square km (Figure 1), which is delimited by Payerne on east side, Granges-prés-Marnand in the South, Avenche in the North, and Estavayer-le-Lac in the west (See Figure 1). This area is mostly cover by the crops and has a very low population density. The presence of the aerodrome of Payerne is likely to generate some noise, but it would also be the opportunity to see the impact of air traffic on nearby MT stations.
