The project will analyze data from the first and second follow-up of the "Swiss Cohort Study on Air Pollution and Lung and Heart Diseases in Adults" (SAPALDIA), a multicentre cohort study in eight distinct geographic areas of Switzerland.
The project aims to investigate cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between different domains and patterns of physical activity and sitting time and different measures of weight and body composition while taking intake of total energy, fat, carbohydrates and proteins into account. Other factors that may influence physical activity behaviour and/or body weight such as gender, age, education, nationality, smoking status, and alcohol intake will be taken into account as well.
