La nouvelle toiture système Freestyle, développée par les entreprises Solstis S.à.r.l. et Granit SA, combine un générateur photovoltaïque amorphe avec une sous couverture étanche. Après la réalisation d'un premier prototype au Demosite de l'EPFL, le projet de 5,5 kWp à Lutry représente la première installation à l'échelle 1 :1, donc une installation pilote.

The roofing system Freestyle allows to cover a roof with a unglazed watertight photovoltaic system. This system features : - aluminium profiles that fixed to the roof structure - corrugated panels made of reinforced polyester, that plays the role of self-draining subroof - half-finite PV laminated based on triple cell a-Si technology that are assembled on steel plates - EPDM joints, inserted in the gullets of the aluminum profiles, are used for the fixation of the PV laminates on the aluminium profiles. The pilot system has a full size of 160 m2. The active solar area is 100m2 for an installed STC power of 5,5 kW. The color « dark grey » (RAL 7016) of the plates was chosen by the architect and is well matched to the color of the photovoltaic cells. This shows the capability of the system to offer a maximal satisfaction as far as esthetics are concerned. The system was put into service in mai 2003. Up to now, it was operating well without any breakdown. The measurements were taken from the 1st of July up to now. We have therfore more than 12 monthes of follow-up of system’s operation. The results are far better than expected. A conservative production value of 4’500 kWh was offered. From the 1st of July 2003 un to the 30th of June 2004, the real production was close to 5’400 kWh, wich is an excellent value, provided the rather unoptimized system tilt angle.

Le système constructif Freestyle assure simultanément étanchéité du toit et production d’électricité, tout en procurant un aspect soigné à la toiture. Il est composé : - de profilés aluminium fixés à la structure du toit - d’une sous-couverture en polyester ondulé armé - de tôles d’acier équipées de lamifiés amorphes à technologie triple-couche - de profilés élastomères qui sont clipsés dans les profilés et utilisés pour la fixation des tôles solaires sur les profilés aluminium. Le système-pilote a une surface totale de 160 m2. La surface solaire active est de 100 m2. Ceci correspond à une puissance installée de 5,5 kW. Les tôles « support » ont été choisies de couleur « anthracite » (RAL 7016). Cette couleur se marie particulièrement bien avec le marron-violacé des lamifiés photovoltaïques, l’ensemble formant une combinaison plutôt discrète et élégante. Le système a été mis en service en mai 2003. Le système fonctionne dès lors sans interruption. Les mesures sont opérationnelles depuis le 1er juillet 2003. A ce jour, nous avons donc plus de 12 mois de recul sur le fonctionnement de l’installation. Les résultats dépassent de loin les attentes puisqu’une production prudente de 4'500 kWh avait été annoncée au client. La production réelle du 1er juillet 2003 au 30 juin 2004 a été de près de 5’400 kWh, ce qui, pour une installation dont l’inclinaison est loin d’être optimale, est tout à fait exceptionel.
