The project was aimed at studying glycosidase inhibitors, in particular in the context of glycosidase catalytic antibodies. The group of Uli Kazmaier contributed with methodologies to prepare aminocyclopentitols. The group of Mikael Bols brought expertise in the field of isofagomine-type glycosidase inhibitors, and the group of John Nielsen in the field of combinatorial chemistry. Our group focused on the development of aminocyclopentitols and other structures towards glycosidase antibodies. Potent and new glycosidase inhibitors were discovered opening strategies for the preparation of inhibitors with possible therapeutic relevance.
