Abstract
(English)
The aim of this project is to develop the so-called lattice Boltzmann method in new research directions. We are interested to describe solid body mechanics (elasticity, fragmentation, fractures) at a mesoscopic level and also to consider complex flows situations such as flows with solid, deformable suspensions, and flow within flexible membranes. We have developed a simple and numerically effective model of a generic solid which already contains several of the desired properties. In a different direction, we have studied the flow of blood in stented aneurism and determined some of the geometric properties of stends to favor the spontaneous resorption of the aneurism.
