Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
The aim of the project at the University of Neuchâtel was to characterise the microstructural features of ¡-based TiAI alloys containing chromium and niobium additions. Alloys prepared by thermomechanical processes such as hot forging or rolling were examined. Room and high temperature deformation tests, including creep, were also carried out and the deformed structures were related to the a2 /¡ distributions or to texture, depending on the process initially applied. It has been possible to relate the deformation mechanisms active within the ¡ phase to the creep strength of equiaxed alloys produced by hot forging. In particular, mechanical twinning appears related to the different ductility exhibited by one of the alloys as a function of the texture produced by the hot rolling process.
