The project CESAR-II proposes, as a continuation of the project CESAR, to enlarge the functionalities of CESAR. A web-site
http://www.cesar-online.com has been created to allow the public and the clients of the combined transport to use the CESAR services.
The software, which has been realised in the sphere of the CESAR project, at present offers to the clients using it, the functions 'Tracking and Tracing' of the transports and 'Booking' with the different operators of the intermodal transport. Up to now, the software CESAR is supported, with the data sent in real time by more than 100 train loading terminals in Europe, by the Hupac operators (Switzerland and Europe), Cemat (Italy), Kombiverkehr (Germany and Europe).
The Progress Report January 2002 points out the state of advancement of CESAR-II, which will have as final term 31.12.2002.
Objectives achieved:
· Consolidation of a unique timetable of the three operators both for the Rolling Highway and the unaccompanied traffic.
· Unification of the table for possible traffic irregularity-reasons.
· Integration of traffic irregularities in CESAR-II. Presently in test-phase.
· Intensive tests and choice of sophisticated instruments to grant CESAR the best data quality.
· As regards the traffic of the Rolling Highway publication on the CESAR web-site of prices, booking conditions, traffic relation offers for the three CESAR operators.
· Realization of statistics concerning the client access to the CESAR services.
· Dissemination to the customers of the intermodal traffic regarding the potentialities of CESAR and its use.
