Abstract
(Englisch)
The High Voltage Laboratory of ETH Zürich performed several tests in the framework of the worldwide lightning impulse comparison measurements. ETH is a laboratory of about 25 laboratories involved in Europe, USA, Canada, Argentina, Brasil, India, Japan, Australia, Korea and China.
All participating laboratories compare their impulse voltage measuring system with the circulating 400 kV reference measuring system with associated digitizer and 1 kV impulse voltage calibrator. Some new features are included in this intercomparison project:
- Developing and establishing a generally accepted impulse/DC conversion for high voltage measurements.
- Setting the scientific basis for mutual acceptance of impulse voltage measurements within the European Union and worldwide.
- Enhancing mutual recognition and acceptance of reference measuring systems and calibration certificates.
Furthermore, the objectives are also to improve the infrastructure in all participating countries by improving measurements, calibration services and mutual recognition and acceptance of tests and calibrations.
Participating laboratories compare their impulse measuring system with the circulating reference measuring system at five voltage levels, from +/- 80 kV to +/- 400 kV, using the Y-configuration (see EN/IEC 60060-2). Smooth impulses with front times of 0.84 mikrosec and 1.56 mikrosec were used. A third impulse shape is obtained by chopping the longer rise impulse on the front (0.5 µmikrosec).
The detailed programme for intercomparison measurements is given by coordinator, the High Voltage Institute of the Helsinki University of Technology.
