Abstract
(English)
The project aims to create the infrastructure required to support multi-party electronic commerce. The partners will create technology, integrate it in proof-of-concept demonstrators, and pilot trial commercial applications. To demonstrate success. The partners believe that a full e-commerce solution must enable transactions which are:

· Multi-Market:
Applications and value-added services link markets which are provided by separate facilities managers and ISPS (Internet Service Providers);
· Multi-Phase:
Transactions have a life-cycle in which the phases are browse, negotiate, order, pay, deliver and reconcile and audit. Protocols, authentication and audit schemes must exist which provide business integrity and a basis for dispute resolution over the mulitple phases of the transaction:
· Multi-Party:
The unique contribution of multiplecx lies in the word 'Multi-Party'. The work of the project will demonstrably enable Multi-Party business-to-business e-commerce transactions in a fashion which is secure, robust and scaleable and which are effected over the public internet.
· Multi-Platform:
The partners believe that to be successful, the technology must be flexible enough to accommodate different infrastructures such as corba and dcom , and link to a variety of existing it business applications such as back-order and accounting systems.
