Abstract
(English)
Our activity over the last year has focused on the development of reagents suited for the gene therapy of human disorders and on the streamlining of their distribution to other researchers, in particular via the EGDR. New lentiviral vectors and clinically acceptable lentivector packaging cell lines were created, and methods for their propagation to the scientific community were optimized.
Further development of these cell lines, including their certification for GMP (good manufacturing practice) use will be pursued in our laboratory and in collaboration with another EGDR partner (Genethon).
Distribution of materials and know-how will include the establishment of a banking and distribution center that will provide european laboratories with quality-controlled reagents (plasmids, cell lines) and dispense courses to potential users (i.e. postdoctoral fellows and graduate students from europan laboratories).
Information will be disseminated through regularly updated central (http://www.egdr.com) and invididual (http://www.tronolab.unige.ch) web sites.
If appropriate financial support is obtained, continuation of these activities is open-ended.
