Abstract
(English)
The project to use Discotic-liquid-sensors developed at the University of Leeds between the SOMS-centre (Self-organising microstructures) and Bloodhound Sensors Ltd. has started April 1st, 1998. Being a technology user Givaudan-Roure Research could during the first year not contribute significantly to this project. The proposed work was supposed to start as soon as an operational sensor-array system is available. Various internal problems at Bloodhound and at subcontractor facilities delayed the sensor manufacturing process. Givaudan-Roure Research Ltd. started to give important input in terms of sensor specifications as key success criteria: This input was obtained by using excessively an industrial benchmark-system a FOX4000 and through working with the Bloodhound BH114 system. Key success criteria were understood in getting significant sensor raw signals and mastering in an optimal way the head-space sample preparation method which is must to get reproducible results.
At this time after the second project year due to internal restructuration of the research project portofolio we had to resign from the current project and terminate our activities.
