Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
International Standardisation is essential and mandatory for the development of Data Models and Interface structures. STEP-NC as a new Data Model for CNC based Manufacturing has therefore become a very important and active item in the Work of ISO TC184 / SC4 (Product Data) and SC1 (Physical device control).
As convener of the STEP-NC working group in ISO, related to the standard
ISO 14649, AMT was responsible in this project for the co-ordination and harmonisation with the relevant international standardisation work.
This report covers therefore mainly the aspect and results of the standardisation efforts.
SUMMARY AMT VIEW
· The Year 2001, third year of the project and third reporting period, the first phase of
STEP-NC as assigned to this first project has been accomplished to its goals.
· The modelling for Milling, Turning and EDM have been finished.
· Implementation of STEP-NC was successfully done in all planned Scenarios.
· The problems associated with Feature recognition in Dassaults CAD System were solved by a new and active co-operation from Dassaults side. Implementation and testing were successfully applied.
· STEP-NC Information and Dissemination was extended at International levels,
with new publications, a reworked WEB-site, different presentations in Industrial and standardisation bodies and in working groups involved in manufacturing technologies.
· New STEP-NC Films and presentations were prepared by AMT and CADCamation.
· ISO 14649, Phase 1 (Overview and basic principles, General Process Data and Process Data for Milling and Milling Tools) was accepted as DIS and will become an International Standard in 2002.
· In three ISOTC184/SC4 STEP Meeting in Funchal (P), San Francisco (US) and Fukuoka (J) STEP-NC has become one of the most important topics as in the last year as interest and activities for STEP-NC has was growing immensely.
In ISO TC184/SC4 a Task Force Group was preparing grounds for further developments and extensions. Considerable harmonization efforts between ISO 14649 (STEP-NC) and ISO 10303 (STEP) were undertaken.
· The modelling of further technologies, as Turning, Wood and Glass cutting and EDM are ready as CD (Committee Draft), and work will be started soon on Rapid Prototyping, WG7 has a lot of work to do in the next future. I hope that the world wide interest in STEP-NC, especially from the User-side and the growing activities also in SC4 will help to bring the new CNC view of the whole 'Process Data Chain Vision' the needed participation of more Control vendors and Machine Tool builders.
