Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
The TransRouter project aimed at developing a prototype decision support tool for users of translation technology, which would help them to decide whether a document or a number of files should be dealt with by
-human translation
-human assisted translation using translation memories or phrasal lexicons
-machine translation.
The tool was to be based on a partially automated analysis of the texts to be treated, and in a first phase of the project a number of tools were developed to aid in such an analysis, including such innovative tools as an unknown terms detector, a sentence simplicity checker and a tool to detect the degree of repetition in a text or a group of texts. As a result of user feedback on the first prototype it was decided to concentrate in the second part of the project on a detailed analysis of the implications for time, cost and translation quality when choosing different translation routes with different translation service providers. In addition, the result of this analysis should be made available in an easy to read and user configurable report.
The prototype tool finally delivered performed such an analysis and presented it in a user-friendly interface.
