Abstract
(Englisch)
Shared electronic patient records is indeed the integration of relevant subsets of data and functionalities used in clinical practice by physician, nurses and other allied healthcare profession in their daily practice. Within a general framework sheared by each professions, the specific needs for each type of care has to be identified and implemented alloying the global health care delivery system to make adequate use of information technology. The general structure and shearing mechanisms of electronic patient records is addressed by the SynEx project. However TELENURSE ID is focusing on specific aspects dedicated to nursing, i.e. the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) which has been launched by the International Council of Nurses, and the nursing record architecture.
As an accompanying measure of other EU projects focusing on electronic patient record, TELENURSE has a double strategy : 1. Organisation of dissemination conferences on a European level, and dissemination meetings on a national level, including translation of the a-ICNP version from English into 14 European languages. 2. Building of simple demonstrators illustrating possible real uses of ICNP in shared electronic patient records. TELENURSE ID is the continuation of this effort with : 1. Organisation of dissemination conferences in CEE countries, including translation of b-ICNP into Central and Eastern European languages. 2. Adaptation of the demonstrators of nursing subsets of shared electronic patient records to the new structure on b-ICNP.
As partner to this project, HUG-BI has translated into French of the b-ICNP, and has developed NUREC-DM, an easily implementable electronic nursing record based on the general problem solving strategy called nursing process. NUREC-DM demonstrate the use of ICNP as a general frame work for the description of nursing care in electronic nursing records as well as the feasibility and benefit of computer supported nursing care process. NUREC-DM can act as a set of « portable and runable specifications » of a nursing module to be implemented in EHCR. NUREC-DM has also been equipped with multilingual capability for translation in various European languages..
Middelware function for integration with other hospital based information system have also been implemented as a result of the coupling with the Synex project. (OFES:97.0385-8)
