Abstract
(English)
EISS creates the basis for Copyright Registration and Reference Centres (CRRC). A trusted third party operates a database that contains multifacetted information concerning authorized usages of images.
EISS supports the principle that individual right holders or authorized representatives (agents) negotiate usage conditions for their IPR directly with potential buyers of rights. Whenever an agreement is reached between seller and buyer structured meta-data documenting this deal is transmitted to a central database. This database provides tracking assistance for those who wish to find the creator/rights holder associated to a published image. CRRC services could serve as deterrents for illegal use of IPR if right holders consequently register all authorized usages (any publications not registered within CRRC networks are likely to result from an infringement of creator's rights - thus IPR holders stand a better chance to prove illegal use of their works).
Around the CRRC database many forms of value adding services can be created to assist IPR holders promoting and selling their works on global trading networks (market place).
