Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
The TREMOR aims the development and validation of technological aids for patients affected by cerebellar tremor. The technical objectives to be achieved in the framework of the TREMOR Project consist of:
- A sensorized system for recording the kinematical parameters during the execution of natural tremor affected movements of the patient's upper limbs and neck.
- A 2 degree-of-freedom joystick capable of damping the vibrations induced by patient hand tremor and of extracting voluntary movements characteristics.

MIRALab activities concentrate on WP3 'Sensorized System for Upper Limbs and Neck Development' and WP4 'Validation of Sensorized System'. The basic concept of the complete system is a 'virtual therapist' testing program to coordinate the progression of the testing session, to instruct the patient of the exercise to perform and to control the proper collection of the data incoming from the sensorized peripherals.
The main job of MIRALab is composed of two parts. One is to build a real-time animation system in cooperation with EPFL, which allows flexibility of controlling of a virtual therapist. The other is the generation of the test demonstration sequences using high tech 3D modeling of 'virtual therapist'. It also includes a virtual environment, which mimics the real clinical environment with the same size and position of several objects. To build the environment is being discussed among several partners since it is related to several kinds of clinical and technical problems. The animation system has to provide several functions. They are to load virtual human, 'virtual therapist', to animate it with given sequence track files, which are obtained in advance with the FOB according to the clinical definition, to approach and grasp objects in a certain time and position of related animation track sequences.
