Abstract
(English)
The basic objective of the TREMOR project is to develop clinically useable, biomechanically based methods for the measurement and display of information relating to neurological tremor of upper limb and neck. The TREMOR proposal addresses the development and validation of technological aids for patients affected by cerebellar tremor. Tremor is generally known as a diagnostic sign in various diseases, not all of them neurological, including Parkinson Disease (PD), hyperthyroidism, cerebellar lesions.

The technical objectives to be achieved in the framework of the TREMOR project consist of:
· a sensorised system for recording the kinematical parameters during the execution of natural tremor affected movements of the patients upper limbs and neck; the sensorised system will be integrated with a graphical representation of the recorded movements.
· a 2 degree-of-freedom joystick capable of damping the vibrations induced by patients hand tremor and of extracting voluntary movements characteristics.

LIG has contributed with the development of the control and the analysis module of the virtual therapist of TREMOR. The control module manages the session, displays relevant information to the attendant, sends and receives orders from the graphical therapist module, and triggers the data collection and the data analysis. The analysis module performs statistical calculations on the collected data at the end of each session. The modules have been delivered to partners for software integration and evaluation.
