Abstract

Genotyping
Genotyping with isozyme gene markers of Larix decidua from the 14 populations investigated was achieved, totalizing about 2000 individuals. Moreover, 73 individuals of the Intensive Sampling Plots and 128 individuals of the seed lots were analysed.

Biodiversity within and among populations
For Larix decidua, the new results confirm the low genetic variability of larch, compared to other tree species. Genetic variation was mostly paritioned within population and genetic differentiation within transects and between transects was low but significant. A general tendency of a homozygote excess was determined for all samples.

Dynamics of genetic variation
Juveniles populations presented qualitatively the same genetic constitution than the adult ones. Nevertheless, significant differences between both age classes were noticed for several samples.
