Mittels membrangestützter Ozonisierung soll die Speicherung von Regenwasser ohne mikrobiologische Kontamination und Geruchsbelästigung sowie ohne unkontrollierte Ozonfreisetzung ermöglicht werden. Damit ergeben sich völlig neue Speichermöglichkeiten für Regenwasser ("Schwammstadt").
