Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
EUROFAN is a consortium to systematically analyze genes in S. cerevisiae identified by systematic DNA sequencing. In addition to the basic analysis (BO), we are involved in the Nil MRRM (Mutagenesis/Repair/Recombination/Meiosis) Node of EUROFAN to establish and verify assays for high throughput screening in these specific biological processes.

The BO aims were the disruption and analysis of six genes, the so-called six-pack. This part has been successfully finalized and all strains and DNAs have been submitted to EUROSCARF as required by the BO guidelines. The synopsis of the Swiss BO work is being assembled by the Swiss coordinator Prof. P. Philippsen.

The tasks for the N11 MRRM node work have been finalized in the second year. We have generated and distributed to other node members a number of strains that are presently being tested as controls in various assays of the MRRM node. The DNA damage induced reporter system based on the promoter of the S. cerevisiae RAD54 gene fused to the gene encoding jellyfish green fluorescence protein has been verified.
