Abstract
(English)
During the last 3 to 4 years our group has been pushing the frontiers in high-power picosecond and femtosecond solid-state lasers from the sub-l-W average power regime to 16 W for femtosecond and to 27 W for picosecond pulse generation. Micro-Joule pulses can now be generated directly from passively modelocked lasers which replaces a seed oscillator and a regenerative amplifier. In the near future, further power scaling to the 100-WAevel looks very promising using Yb-doped thin-disk lasers.
