Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
During the last year of this 3-year project, substantial know-how regarding the commuter segment was gained.
In 1996 the emphasis lay in the research of the market segments. 1997 was mainly used to develop a viable system both from a technical point of view and with regards to the marketing approach. In 1998 many practical steps were undertaken, leading to more than 500'000 successful hits on the internet in more than 20'000 user sessions.
The University of St. Gallen did the evaluation on the Zurich Test Site, as well as helped to further assess technical developments described in eight supplementary.
The marketing approach was evaluated and suggestions for changes were made by the institute. Also the scientific basis of the approach was tested.
Provisions of the scientific background were given at the press conference in Zurich, where the test site was officially announced. Also a presentation during that launch of the Zurich test site was given by the institute of the University of St. Gallen.
The Zurich test site was supported with development of underlying scientific basis, like trends within Electronic Commerce and Electronic Markets or the potential of the Internet. These fields are among others, the main research parts at the institute.
