Kurzbeschreibung (Englisch)	This proposal outlines the establishment of a dedicated “Project Hub” within ETH Zurich\| Space, aimed at significantly enhancing ETH Zurich’s role in the international space sector through centralized personnel and infrastructure and supplements funding already invested by ETH. The Project Hub will serve as a centralized resource, providing critical expertise in space systems engineering and project management. These resources will support interdisciplinary research groups across ETH Zurich, enabling them to successfully participate in and lead major national and international space missions. The Project Hub is designed to address current gaps in expertise, facilitate the execution of complex space projects, and position ETH Zurich as a leading institution in space research and technology. The strategy is informed by examples of successful university groups in Switzerland and worldwide that have established multidecade track records of success in space research. Besides the support of system engineers and project managers, the Project Hub also has common processes and systems to track costs, schedule, and engineering progress, and maintains a directory of industrial partners with close collaborative relationships in a wide variety of engineering disciplines. The managers in the Project Hub will form the interface of ETH-centric projects with SSO and other partners. In the third year of activity, a study will be performed to explore how the Project Hub could become a Swiss national resource through a possible association with PSI or a National Laboratory that is currently under discussion and would reside at the level of ETH Rat and would become a resource for educational institutions beyond ETH.
