ThunLogIQ investigates data-based decision-making processes for sustainable inner-city logistics using agent-based simulation. Using a digital model of Thun city center, new city logistics concepts are systematically evaluated and their impact on CO2 emissions, logistics traffic volume, and operating costs is quantified. The methodology includes data collection on local logistics flows, modeling in a simulation environment, and comparative scenario analysis. The objective is to achieve a measurable improvement in sustainability and a reduction in emissions from inner-city delivery traffic while maintaining the quality of supply. The project provides a sound basis for decision-making by local authorities on the implementation of efficient and environmentally friendly logistics systems. The methodology developed contributes to the transformation of urban transport systems and can be transferred to other Swiss cities.
