Short description
(English)
Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) represent a serious threat to patient safety, contributing to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Multifaceted interventions have the potential to reduce healthcare associated infections by 50%.
The goal of the project is to reduce CLABSI rates in acute care hospitals in Switzerland. It aims to develop and implement an intervention package to prevent CLABSI, based on current evidence, local feasibility, and innovative monitoring tools. The specific aims will be to assess the current landscape for measures used in acute care hospitals to prevent CLABSI, develop recommendations and implementation resources for the prevention of CLABSI, and evaluate process indicators on catheter vascular insertion/use.
