Short description
(English)
Non-ventilator-associated hospital-acquired pneumonia (nvHAP) is one of the most common healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), with considerable clinical and economic impact. Recent years have brought increasing evidence that nvHAP is as preventable as other HAIs, for which the preventable proportion has been estimated to range from 10 to 70%.
The objectives of the Swiss nvHAP project is to establish a module for the prevention of nvHAP, including elaboration of Swiss guidelines on nvHAP prevention, to launch recommendations on nvHAP process monitoring and provide a process indicator monitoring tool, to design implementation resources for the nvHAP intervention and process monitoring modules as well as to disseminate the intervention and monitoring modules.
