The construction of reliable large-scale solar thermal plants in Switzerland will be specifically supported with a hands-on toolkit. This toolkit is based on the expertise of experienced national and international planners, developers and manufacturers, as well as on the results of other international projects, and takes into account the specific national circumstances in Switzerland. Existing knowledge will be made available so that known errors in the construction of plants can be avoided. Technical issues such as hydraulic balancing, stagnation and overheating management, safety and maintenance are part of the toolkit. As an additional central element, an open-source Python-based backend engine is being developed for the correct dimensioning and hydraulic configuration of solar fields. This backend engine forms the basis for a future planning tool. To achieve a broad impact, the toolkit will be promoted through webinars and workshops.
