Um die Dekarbonisierungsziele des Energiesektors zu erreichen. Das Projekt „BIG4HEAT” modelliert und bewertet die Leistung eines unterirdischen Speichers mit horizontaler Geometrie, einer vielversprechenden Lösung zur Begrenzung der Auswirkungen auf die Bodenfläche. Es untersucht auch die Möglichkeit, bestehende Infrastrukturen, wie beispielsweise ehemalige Kohlenwasserstoffspeicher, in saisonale oder inter-saisonale Speichereinheiten umzuwandeln. Die Auswirkungen der geografischen Lage des Speichers im Netz werden analysiert, um seine hydraulische und energetische Integration zu optimieren. To achieve the energy sector's decarbonization targets, the BIG4HEAT project models and evaluates the performance of horizontal underground storage, a promising solution for limiting land use impact. It also explores the possibility of converting existing infrastructure, such as former hydrocarbon reservoirs, into inter-seasonal or seasonal storage units. The effect of the geographical position of the storage facility within the network is analyzed in order to optimize its hydraulic and energy integration. Finally, the project identifies the operational risks associated with each configuration and proposes strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the system, as well as a simulation of the return on investment (ROI) of the various solutions, taking into account future needs and possibilities for expansion.

Pour atteindre les objectifs de décarbonation du secteur énergétique. Le projet « BIG4HEAT » modélise et évalue les performances d’un stockage souterrain à géométrie horizontale, une solution prometteuse pour limiter l’impact foncier. Il explore également la possibilité de reconvertir des infrastructures existantes, telles que d’anciens réservoirs d’hydrocarbures, en unités de stockage inter-saisonnier ou saisonnier. L’effet de la position géographique du stockage dans le réseau est analysé afin d’optimiser son intégration hydraulique et énergétique. Enfin, le projet identifie les risques opérationnels associés à chaque configuration et propose des stratégies visant à garantir la fiabilité et l’efficacité du système, ainsi qu’une simulation du retour sur investissement (ROI) des différentes solutions en tenant compte des besoins futurs et des possibilités d’extension.
