The hyperexcitability of peripheral sensory neurons is a key mechanism which we aim to reduce to tackle neuropathic pain, an intractable type of chronic pain. We have designed a viral vector-based gene therapy that targets neurons and their surrounding satellite cells to alleviate neuropathic pain.
