The flagship Global Food Venture programme is EIT Food's dedicated offering to doctoral students working on challenges in the food sector in Europe. The programme fosters every year, the entrepreneurial growth of 80 highly qualified PhD students and DEEP TECH Entrepreneurs from across Europe by creating a unique experience that combines research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry involvement and pan-European mobility. The programme, with its strong focus on business creation is boosting the entrepreneurial capacity & personal drive of participants to establish own ventures. While there are many courses and programmes focused on commercialising technologies, the majority of these do not focus on the specific needs and the time horizons of a deep tech innovator, i.e., an innovator that is providing technology solutions based on substantial scientific or engineering challenges. It is overall designed as a high quality hands-on learning, engaging European and international business consultants, academics, corporate experts and established agrifood startups. Global Food Venture Programme made for doctoral students and researchpreneurs, offers unparalleled benefits; bespoke curriculum in entrepreneurship, tailored coaching on business ideas, insights into key innovation ecosystems and cultures, participation in pitch competitions, visibility on a European level and access to EIT Food network of leading corporate and academic partners. This unique 6 month entrepreneurial journey boosts students´ business knowledge & competences and support them turn their innovative research into market value. After three successful editions, participants are welcome to join our strong alumni network of successful food innovators, entrepreneurs and start-up founders, and become part of the EIT Food ecosystem.
