A previous project highlighted the presence of additives from car tires in plant products. It is likely that these substances are leached from tire rubber particles that have penetrated the soil and/or the surface of the products. These substances are then found at measurable concentrations in products such as leafy vegetables. We are currently asking the following research question: are tire gum additives also found in milk and dairy products?
