To achieve Switzerland's net zero goals, innovative solutions are also needed on construction sites. For construction machinery, the switch to battery-electric machines is the most environmentally and economically sensible solution, and the first near-series solutions are being offered by manufacturers. Battery-electric technology is available, proven, locally emission-free, and suitable for most applications on construction sites. In this project, different electric construction machines will be used in five pilot projects on SBB construction sites. Subsequently, a guideline on "electric construction machines on public transport construction sites" will be developed in collaboration with planners, project managers, and construction companies. Based on measurement data, experience reports, and real challenges, this will be a significant step towards the systemic shift to a future without fossil fuels.
