Description succincte
(Anglais)
Numerous molecules are involved in leukocyte maturation, traffic and homing, as well as in the development of lymphoid tissues. Chemokines have been identified as selective attractants of different types of blood leukocytes to sites of infection and inflammation, or to the secondary lymphoid organs. They are produced upon stimulation in the tissues or are constitutively expressed in the lymphoid organs.
Objectifs du projet
(Anglais)
Human tissue samples are analysed in order to identify in situ the cellular source and the chemokines produced in normal conditions, upon inflammation, and in different tumour stages.
To clarify the mechanisms involved in inflammatory responses and to open new therapeutic approaches of inflammatory diseases, we study the fine tuning modulation of leukocyte activities induced by natural antagonist chemokines as well as the chemokine domains that are essential for recognition and triggering of the chemokine receptors.
