Short description
(English)

As part of this small-scale project, the definition of a new reference material for food safety is to be developed. This project should include the following milestones:
- Compile stakeholders / contact groups for the reference material to be defined
- Gather the needs of these stakeholders / contact groups (survey / online meeting / trade fairs / ...). Also consult and update the list drawn up for the major project "Food safety reference laboratory".
- Brainstorm which food matrix could be produced with which contaminants
- Check potential candidates for feasibility and availability of similar reference materials on the market.
- The properties to be certified and the desired values and level of uncertainty
- Appropriateness and quality of the targeted reference material
- Decide on the manufacturing process and whether the RM should be manufactured internally or externally
- If necessary, evaluate and contact external partners for the production of the reference material
- If necessary, find external partners to partially finance the following major project
- Design the sampling procedure
- Definition of the reference temperature (storage)
- Design of the sample preparation procedure
- Selection of suitable measurement methods for homogeneity and stability testing
- Design of the characterization of the CRM
- Sampling

Project aims
(English)
As part of this small-scale project, a new reference material for food safety will be developed, and fill the gap in the current availability of food matrix reference materials. The produced food matrix reference material will undergo homogeneity and stability testing and a complete uncertainty analysis
