The aim of this project is to continue the activity of optical frequency dissemination via fiber-optic networks established under the SNF Sinergia project F-5117.30110, ""Precision Molecular Spectroscopy"" for the period 2023-2024, so as to be able to integrate this activity from 2025 within the framework of the Swiss research infrastructure projects supported by the SBFI (Swiss Quantum Initiative, S-QCI), for which an application is currently underway.
This small project has two main objectives:
- The first is to maintain our current frequency dissemination service through the SWITCH network, so as to enable our current research partners (University of Basel and ETHZ) to continue their spectroscopy research activities. This activity will also enable us to better identify potential new uses for this structure in other areas of metrology and research, and to initiate other small exploratory projects.
- The second is to prepare for the future implementation of this service within the S-QCI framework, or other structures, while carrying out an evaluation of potential future services.
