Im Jahr 2018 hat das ASTRA ein Vorprojekt zum Einsatz von Gussasphalt auf offenen Strassenabschnitten gestartet. Angesichts der ermutigenden, ersten Ergebnisse und des hohen Potenzials, insbesondere bezüglich Nutzungsdauer und Lärmabsorption, hat das ASTRA auf der Grundlage dieser ersten Untersuchungen ein umfassendes Projekt «Gussasphalt auf offenen Strecken GoS» entwickelt. Das vorliegende Projekt SynGoS ist Bestandteil des Gesamt-Projektes GoS.
Das oberste Ziel des gesamten Projektes GoS ist es, einen wesentlichen Beitrag dazu zu leisten, damit Gussasphalt als Deckschicht bei Fahrbahnen auf offenen Strecken systematisch verwendet werden kann. Um dies zu erreichen, wird das Projekt SynGoS die Entwicklungen in der Praxis und der Forschung über die gesamte Projektdauer von 5 Jahren verfolgen. Zudem wird SynGoS eine wissenschaftliche Begleitung der Entwicklungen und der Ausführung der Pilotstrecken durchführen. 
Um Grundlagen für die Standardisierung zu erarbeiten, müssen diverse Fragestellungen und Aspekte erforscht und/oder bestätigt werden. Auf dieser Basis sowie auf den Erkenntnissen der Pilotstrecken aufbauend werden Entscheidungshilfen zur Festlegung von Normen, Ausführungshinweise, Richtlinien und Anforderungen formuliert.

In 2018, FEDRO launched a preliminary project on the use of mastic asphalt on open road sections. In view of the encouraging initial results and the high potential, particularly with regard to service life and noise absorption, FEDRO has developed a comprehensive project "Mastic asphalt on open stretches of road GoS" on the basis of these initial investigations. The present SynGoS project is part of the overall GoS project.
The primary objective of the overall GoS project is to make a significant contribution to ensuring that mastic asphalt can be systematically used as a surface course for carriageways on open roads. To achieve this, the SynGoS project will follow developments in practice and research over the entire project duration of 5 years. In addition, SynGoS will carry out scientific monitoring of the developments and the execution of the pilot routes. 
In order to develop a basis for standardisation, various questions and aspects must be researched and/or confirmed. On this basis, as well as on the findings of the pilot sections, decision-making aids for the definition of standards, execution instructions, guidelines and requirements will be formulated.

Die Ziele des Projektes können wie folgt zusammengefasst werden: Definition der Systemgrenze und Erfassung der Rohdaten bezüglich Treibhausgasemissionen und Kosten. Durchführung der Analysen LCI,  LCA und LCC von Gussasphalt im Vergleich zu Asphaltbeton sowie lebenszyklusbasierte Multi-Attribute Analyse, Nachweis bezüglich Kosten/Nutzen. Erstellung eines Syntheseberichtes in welchem die Erkenntnisse für ein Erhaltungsmanagement und eine Strategie beschrieben ist. Formulierung von ersten Empfehlungen für die Normierung der Anwendung von Gussasphalt auf offenen Strecken. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass es für die Standardisierung und Normierung Nachfolgeprojekt(e) brauchen wird.

Objectifs du projet (Anglais)

The objectives of the project can be summarised as follows: Definition of the system boundary and collection of raw data regarding GHG emissions and costs. Conduct LCI, LCA and LCC analyses of mastic asphalt compared to asphalt concrete and life cycle based multi-attribute analysis, cost/benefit demonstration. Preparation of a synthesis report describing the findings for a maintenance management and a strategy. Formulation of initial recommendations for the standardisation of the use of mastic asphalt on open roads. It can be assumed that follow-up project(s) will be needed for standardisation.
