In diesem Pilotprojekt wurden folgende Kompetenzen des frühkindlichen Lernens und Wohlbefindens von fünfjährigen Kindern erhoben:
- kognitive Fähigkeiten (Lese- und Schreibfähigkeiten und Rechenfähigkeiten),
- Selbstregulierung,
- sozial-emotionale Fähigkeiten.
Zudem wurden verschiedene weitere Informationen erfasst, z. B. sozio-ökonomischer Status der Eltern, Migrationshintergrund, Familiensprache, elterliche Aktivitäten mit den Kindern und die Nutzung von Angeboten der frühkindlichen Bildung, Entwicklung und Erziehung (FBBE).
Um diese Informationen zu erheben, wurden Befragungen von Eltern und Lehrpersonen und Kindern durchgeführt. Die Kinder nahmen mittels einem Spiel auf einem Tablet an der Befragung teil.

This pilot project assessed the following aspects of early childhood learning and well-being in five-year-olds: In addition, various other details were recorded, such as the parents’ socio-economic status, migration background, language spoken at home, parental activities with the children, and the use of early childhood education, care and support (ECEC) services.
- cognitive skills (reading, writing and numeracy skills),
- self-regulation,
- social-emotional skills.
To collect this information, surveys were conducted with parents, teachers and children. The children took part in the survey via a game on a tablet.

Dans le cadre de ce projet pilote, les compétences suivantes en matière d’apprentissage et de bien-être de la petite enfance chez les enfants de cinq ans ont été évaluées : diverses autres informations ont également été recueillies, telles que le statut socio-économique des parents, le contexte migratoire, la langue parlée à la maison, les activités des parents avec leurs enfants et le recours aux offres d’éducation et d’accueil des jeunes enfants (EAJE).
- les capacités cognitives (compétences en lecture, en écriture et en calcul),
- l'autorégulation,
- les compétences socio-émotionnelles.
Pour recueillir ces informations, des enquêtes ont été menées auprès des parents, des enseignants et des enfants. Les enfants ont participé à l'enquête à l'aide d'un jeu sur tablette.

In questo progetto pilota sono state valutate le seguenti competenze relative all’apprendimento e al benessere nella prima infanzia di bambini di cinque anni: sono state inoltre raccolte diverse altre informazioni, ad esempio lo status socioeconomico dei genitori, il background migratorio, la lingua parlata in famiglia, le attività svolte dai genitori con i figli e l’utilizzo delle offerte di educazione, cura e istruzione della prima infanzia (ECCI).

- autoregolazione,
- capacità socio-emotive.
Per raccogliere queste informazioni sono state condotte interviste a genitori, insegnanti e bambini. I bambini hanno partecipato all’intervista tramite un gioco su tablet.

Die Pilotstudie überprüfte die Machbarkeit der IELS Hauptstudie in der Schweiz. Die IELS Hauptstudie soll den teilnehmenden Ländern vergleichende Daten und Analysen liefern, dank derer die teilnehmenden Länder die frühkindliche Bildung, Entwicklung und Erziehung verbessern und dadurch die Entwicklung und das allgemeine Wohlergehen der Kinder stärker fördern können. Die Schweiz nahm nur an der Pilotstudie teil, jedoch schlussendlich nicht an der IELS Hauptstudie im Zyklus 2024/2025. Eine Teilnahme der Schweiz an einem künftigen Erhebungszyklus einer IELS Hauptstudie wird zu gegebener Zeit geprüft.

The pilot study assessed the feasibility of the main IELS study in Switzerland. The main IELS study is intended to provide participating countries with comparative data and analyses that will enable them to improve early childhood education, development and care, thereby better supporting children’s development and general well-being. Switzerland took part only in the pilot study, but ultimately did not participate in the main IELS study in the 2024/2025 cycle. Switzerland’s participation in a future survey cycle of a main IELS study will be considered in due course.

L'étude pilote a évalué la faisabilité de l'étude principale IELS en Suisse. L'étude principale IELS a pour objectif de fournir aux pays participants des données et des analyses comparatives qui leur permettront d'améliorer l'éducation, le développement et la prise en charge des jeunes enfants et, par là même, de mieux favoriser leur développement et leur bien-être général. La Suisse n’a participé qu’à l’étude pilote, mais n’a finalement pas pris part à l’étude principale IELS du cycle 2024/2025. La participation de la Suisse à un futur cycle d’enquête d’une étude principale IELS sera examinée en temps voulu.

Lo studio pilota ha verificato la fattibilità dello studio principale IELS in Svizzera. Lo studio principale IELS ha lo scopo di fornire ai paesi partecipanti dati e analisi comparativi, grazie ai quali questi ultimi potranno migliorare l’educazione, lo sviluppo e la formazione nella prima infanzia, promuovendo così in modo più incisivo lo sviluppo e il benessere generale dei bambini. La Svizzera ha partecipato solo allo studio pilota, ma alla fine non ha preso parte allo studio principale IELS nel ciclo 2024/2025. La partecipazione della Svizzera a un futuro ciclo di rilevazione di uno studio principale IELS sarà valutata a tempo debito.

Das Pilotprojekt wurde in Kindergärten des Kantons Aargau durchgeführt. Dabei wurden Kinder mit spielerischen Aufgaben auf einem Tablet zu ihren kognitiven Fähigkeiten (Lesen, Schreiben und Rechnen), zu Selbstregulierung und zu ihren sozial-emotionalen Fähigkeiten getestet. Die Eltern und die Kindergartenlehrpersonen füllten einen Fragebogen u.a. zu soziodemographischen Merkmalen und zur Teilnahme an Angeboten der frühen Förderung des Kindes aus. Der Schlussbericht enthält die Ergebnisse der Analysen und fasst die Lessons Learned zur Durchführung des Pilotprojektes zusammen, die bei einer möglichen zukünftigen Teilnahme der Schweiz an einer Hauptstudie berücksichtigt werden sollten.

The pilot project was conducted in kindergartens in the canton of Aargau. A gamified, tablet-based assessment tool was used to screen the children's cognitive abilities (reading, writing and arithmetic), self-regulation as well as social-emotional skills. The children's parents and teachers were also surveyed by means of a questionnaire. Questions covered a range of topics, including sociodemograhic characteristics and participation in early childhood development programmes. In addition to presenting the findings of the analyses, the final report summarises the lessons learned from the pilot. These insights should inform Switzerland's possible future participation in the main study.

Le projet pilote a été réalisé dans les écoles enfantines du canton d’Argovie. Il a permis d’évaluer les capacités cognitives (lecture, écriture et calcul), le contrôle de soi et les compétences socioémotionnelles des enfants au moyen d’exercices ludiques sur une tablette. Les parents et les enseignants d’école enfantine ont rempli un questionnaire portant notamment sur les caractéristiques sociodémographiques et sur la participation de l’enfant aux offres d’encouragement précoce. Le rapport final présente les résultats des analyses et résume les enseignements tirés du projet pilote qui devraient être pris en compte dans le cadre d’une participation de la Suisse à une future étude globale.

Il progetto pilota è stato svolto in alcune scuole dell’infanzia del Cantone di Argovia, dove i bambini sono stati sottoposti, mediante compiti ludici su un tablet, a test su capacità cognitive (lettura, scrittura e calcolo), autodisciplina e capacità socio-emotive. I genitori e gli insegnanti delle scuole dell’infanzia coinvolti hanno compilato un questionario concernente tra l’altro caratteristiche sociodemografiche e la partecipazione dei bambini a prestazioni di sostegno alla prima infanzia. Il rapporto finale contiene i risultati delle analisi e riepiloga gli insegnamenti tratti dallo svolgimento del progetto pilota, che andrebbero presi in considerazione in caso di eventuale futura partecipazione della Svizzera a uno studio principale.
