Abstract
(Englisch)
Carbon removals are a necessity for the EU to reach its goal of Net Zero by 2050, particularly to compensate for industrial and process emissions which are impossible to mitigate. Given this market demand, carbon removal startups will need to deliver substantial amount of negative emissions soon. Yet, little support for these ventures exists to this day. Addressing this need, the Carbon Removal Accelerator, jointly led by ETH Zurich's Sustainability in Business Lab and the Technical University Delft, accelerates nature-based and technological carbon removal startups, taking a systemic approach and placing explicit focus on ensuring climate impact early on. The accelerator consortium also includes PANNON Pro Innovations responsible for operations and it is planned to run the project at least until the end of 2023.
