Using heat pump technology in drying processes holds great potential for energy savings, as it enables heat recovery at low temperatures and the upgrading of heat for the drying process in the form of dehumidified and reheated drying air. Swiss contributions to the IEA HPT Annex 59 on Heat Pumps for Drying shall address this potential.
