Die Siedlungsdichte, die Siedlungsstruktur und die Angebotsqualität der einzelnen Verkehrsmittel sind für das Verkehrsmittelwahlverhalten die entscheidenden Treiber. Räumliche Gegebenheiten und die Siedlungsstruktur führen dazu, dass die Modal-Split-Anteile und damit auch die Angebotsentwicklung stark vorgegeben und beeinflusst werden. Die quantitativen Abhängigkeiten
dieser drei Komponenten (Siedlungsstrukturen, Verkehrsnachfrage und Angebotsqualität der Verkehrsmittel) wurden empirisch bisher wenig untersucht. Das Projekt soll daher für die einzelnen Raumtypen, deren Charakterisierung hinsichtlich Raumstruktur sowie die Angebots- und Nachfrageverhältnisse empirisch analysieren und Schlussfolgerungen für die zukünftige Angebotsplanung liefern.

The density and structure of settlements and the supply of the four main means of transport are the main drivers for modal choice. Modal split shares and also transport planning are therefore strongly predetermined and influenced by spatial characteristics of the territory. The quantitative interdependencies of these three components (spatial characteristics, transport demand and supply of the means of transport) have so far been little investigated empirically. The project therefore aims to empirically analyse the transport supply and demand for the swiss municipalities (respecting their spatial characteristics), and to provide insigths for future transport planning.

Projektziel ist die Quantifizierung der Abhängigkeit der Verkehrsnachfrage von Verkehrsangebot und Raumtyp und darauf aufbauend die Identifizierung der Verlagerungspotenziale sowie die Gewinnung von Erkenntnissen für die künftige Angebotsplanung

The aim of the project is to quantify the dependence of transport demand on transport supply and territorial typologies and, based on this, to identify the potential for modal shift and to gain insights for future transport planning.
