Short description
(English)
The main objective of the evaluation was to assess the results achieved so far during Phase 1 of the SDC/GCNSL partnership (2019-22), with a particular focus on the following aspects: i) relevance and impact of the GCNSL’s work in Switzerland, incl. influence on core business activities of member companies, ii) institutional functioning / governance and decision-making processes of the Network, iii) GCNSL’s performance, working methods and approaches, incl. the pertinence and quality of the services offered by the Network, iv) cooperation of the GCNSL with other local UNGC networks, in particular those in developing countries and/or emerging economies, and v) the Network’s outreach to relevant stakeholders, incl. cooperation with the Swiss Federal Administration. Furthermore, the evaluation was expected to provide suggestions to the SDC regarding its future work on private sector mobilisation for the 2030 Agenda and the relevance of the GCNSL and other platforms to help ensuring a wide uptake and implementation of responsible and sustainable practices by Swiss companies, in particular those having operations and/or subsidiaries abroad.
