Im ersten Schritt geht es darum, Literaturgrundlagen systematisiert auszuwerten, so dass Kenngrössen, Abgrenzungen sowie Annahmen für die zu erarbeitende Methodik strukturiert hergeleitet werden können. Aufgrund der Erkenntnisse aus der Literatur wird der Untersuchungsrahmen abschliessend definiert. Im zweiten Arbeitsschritt geht es darum, verschiedene Berechnungsmethoden zu erarbeiten, die verschiedenen Varianten zu beurteilen und anschliessend eine prioritäre Methode zur Abschätzung des personenbezogenen Flächenverbrauchs zu vertiefen. Im 3. Arbeitsschritt wird die vorab entwickelte Berechnungsmethodik operationalisiert und umgesetzt. Dabei sollen die verschiedenen sinnvollen Differenzierungsmöglichkeiten berücksichtigt werden und so die Bandbreite der Ergebnis-Kennzahlen aufgezeigt werden. Es soll damit auch die Relevanz der verschiedenen Einflussfaktoren auf den Flächenverbrauch identifiziert werden. Im Vordergrund steht die Ermittlung von Durchschnittswerten für typische Situationen (räumlich, zeitlich). Im 4. Arbeitsschritt erfolgt die Umsetzung der erarbeiteten Methode anhand konkreter Fallbeispiele (Räume, Strassen). Dabei soll die entwickelte Methode in unterschiedlichem räumlichem Kontext getestet werden und die Resultate und der Aufwand dokumentiert werden. Im 5. und letzten Arbeitsschritt soll die entwickelte Methodik eingeordnet, mögliche Anwendungen dargestellt und ein Ausblick vorgenommen werden.

The first working step includes a systematic evaluattion of the literature so that parameters, delimitations and assumptions for the methodology to be developed can be derived in a structured manner. Based on the findings from the literature, the scope of the study is finally defined. In the second working step, various calculation methods for the space consumption are developed, the different variants are assessed and then a priority method for estimating specific space consumption of passenger transport is developed in more detail. In the third step, the previously developed calculation method is operationalised and implemented. In doing so, the various (sensible) differentiation possibilities are to be taken into account, demonstrating the range of resulting key figures. The relevance of the various influencing factors on land consumption is also to be identified. The focus is on determining average values for typical situations (spatial, temporal). In the fourth working step, the method developed is implemented and tested with concrete case studies (spaces, streets). The developed method will be tested in different spatial contexts and the results and the effort for calculating will be documented. In the 5th and last working step, the developed methodology will be assessed, possible applications will be presented and an outlook will be made.

In der geplanten Forschungsarbeit soll eine Methode zur Abschätzung des personenbezogenen, spezifischen Flächenverbrauchs nach Verkehrsmitteln entwickelt werden. Diese Methodik soll transparent und nachvollziehbar sein und möglichst aktuelle und belastbare Kenngrössen zum Flächenverbrauch liefern. Auch soll die Methodik differenziert sein, indem sie verschiedene Einflussfaktoren und Rahmenbedingungen abbilden kann (z.B. zeitliche und räumliche Differenzierung). Auf diese Weise soll auch die Relevanz der Bandbreiten verschiedener Annahmen oder Rahmenbedingungen für das Ergebnis aufgezeigt werden.
Im Rahmen des Projekts soll in 1. Priorität eine belastbare Methodik entwickelt werden, die zukünftig in der Praxis angewandt werden kann. Zudem soll die Methodik anhand konkreter Beispiele validiert werden – a) für typische verkehrliche Situationen, b) vertieft anhand konkreter Fallbeispiele.

In the planned research project, a method for estimating the specific space consumption of passenger transport, differentiated by means of transport is to be developed. This methodology should be transparent and comprehensible and provide the most up-to-date and reliable parameters possible on space consumption. The methodology should also be differentiated in a way it can depict various influencing factors and framework (e.g. temporal and spatial differentiation). In this way, the relevance of the bandwidths of different assumptions or framework conditions for the result should also be shown.
The first priority of the project is to develop a robust methodology that can be applied in practice in the future. In addition, the methodology is to be validated using concrete examples - a) for typical traffic situations, b) with in-depth and concrete case studies.
