Decentralised renewable energy assets are able to ensure the supply of critical electricity consumers in the event of long power outages. Thus, essential actors such as police, red cross, civil defence, drinking water supply, petrol stations, farms, etc. can be available to the population even in emergencies. The assets are already available in many networks (biogas plants, photovoltaic plants, small hydro plants). Technical and organizational requirements for the implementation of this "emergency operations" are however still missing. Also, there are no experiences and field tests available yet to confirm the potential of the concept and present it to a broad audience. The present project aims to close these gaps and make possible a power supply in emergency situations with decentralized renewables.
