(Allemand)
Description succincte
(Anglais)
The inlet valves generated turbulence is of crucial importance for mixture formation and homogenization in terms of premixed engine combustion processes – even for renewable / synthetic (biomass, Power-to-Gas/Power-to-Liquid) or H2 containing renewable gaseous fuels to reduce CO2 and pollutant emissions. In any case, the extent to which so-called cycle-to-cycle variations (CCV) will constrain GHG and emission reduced combustion processes depends on the initial turbulent flow structure. An optical flow test bench will be developed to acquire CCV with "Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)" measurements. Moreover, the flow field shall be analyzed by means of the "Proper Orthogonal Decomposition" filtering approach (POD) to distinguish between dominant, coherent and turbulent structures. This reference data is a prerequisite for the development of corresponding LES simulation models. In general, investigations of complex CCV aims in efficient and emission reduced combustion processes.
