The investigations have shown the potential and limitations of natural zeolite for the adsorption of micropollutants in wastewater. Despite the lower adsorption capacity of zeolite, an added value could be generated, especially in combination with existing technologies. In our opinion, however, this should be combined with other positive properties (such as the adsorption capacity of zeolites for ammonium).
At this stage, we consider zeolite filters to be an exciting solution, but not competitive with existing technologies, especially activated carbon adsorption.
