Die stets wachsenden Kommunikations- und Informationsbedürfnisse, die markanten Technologiefortschritte sowie der grosse Preiszerfall im Bereich der neuen, digitalen Telefonanlagen bewirken eine starke Durchdringung dieser Technologie in der Industrie, in Dienstleistungsbetrieben und im Gewerbe. Die vorliegende Studie gibt einen Überblick über den Energieverbrauch von Teilnehmervermittlungsanlagen (TVA) auf der Ebene der einzelnen Geräte wie auch auf nationaler Ebene. Ebenfalls werden mögliche Handlungsalternativen beschrieben.

Constantly growing needs for communication and information, the rapid progress of technology and the pronounced fall in prices in the field of new digital telephone systems are leading to a widespread distribution of this technology throughout the industrial, services and commercial sectors. This study provides an overview of the energy consumption of private automatic branch exchanges at the level of individual devices as well as on a national scale. It also describes possible alternative measures.
