Abstract (Deutsch)

Dangerous air-embolism during heart surgery is reduced by spraying invisible CO2 gas in the patient#s open thorax to avoid blood-air contact. No device exists to tell the surgeon if it is working or to control gas flow. Our solution with feedback also enables CO2 delivery directly into the heart.
