While, in practice of pavement management to some extent missing or poor pavement condition data is available, data from material tests, e.g. acceptance tests after pavement interventions, is not considered for development of pavement deterioration models.
In this research project, on the one hand, the fundamentals of mathematical background for possible deterministic or probabilistic models are described. These models must be applicable in characterizing the pavement deterioration for pavement management in the defined time frame. The state properties, which are present in Switzerland, will be considered and the data requirements will be formulated.
On the other hand, a solution is lacking in the presence of poor data quality or missing data. For Switzerland, it will be investigated if the new approaches for existing material test data are applicable and further if the new methods of the Technical University of Braunschweig, which contain little complex bitumen and mastic tests, will generate practical benefits for Switzerland. A stepwise calibration method for Switzerland will be developed. The practical application will be shown in a case study and a sensitivity analysis within a prototype.
