Short description
(German)
The main aim of our study was to investigate the suitability of high-resolution thermal infrared and multispectral remote sensing for the characterization of spatio-temporal thermal heterogeneity and riparian vegetation shading. Our measurements were carried out in parallel and in coordination with other investigations at a FOEN measuring station located on a hydromorphologically homogenous river. The results and empirical findings of these measurements are expected to contribute to the efficient mapping and monitoring of complex patterns of surface water temperature and riparian vegetation shading in river systems using the innovative tools presented in this manuscript.
